There are two covered markets in Palma and the smaller one Santa Catalina is found on the far side of the river just past the gardens of Plaza La Feixina. The larger market is in the opposite direction past Plaza Major. For those looking for a real flee market then the area near Plaza Porta D’es Camp at the bottom end of the avenue is the place to go on a Saturday morning. Palma’s Castell de Bellver (Bellver Castle) was begun in 1309 and
sits proudly on the hills overlooking the city and the sea beyond.
